If you want a completely closed spectrometer with high imaging quality, you can extend the basic spectrometer with our Raspberry Pi HQ camera with standard 16 mm lens and separate housing part. All components are screwed together, resulting in increased stability. By using a lens to collimate the light rays passing through the slit, spectral resolution is increased as this minimizes the angular aperture on the grating. After that, the operation is analogous to the basic version, except that the fixed focal length - 16 mm lens has very good imaging properties. The collimation of the incoming light beams as well as the high imaging quality of the 16 mm objective generally improve the performance of the grating spectrometer compared to the basic version.
