ScopeControl

Suitable for our featured experiments, our equipment and more!

ScopeControl is a 'lean' software for live display of camera sensors in applications of microscopy or telescopy, limiting itself to the essentials and offering a useful, scientifically oriented feature set. ScopeControl is programmed with Python and can be downloaded as executable code, so no separate Python installation is necessary. An overview of the operation and basic functions can be found here in our video.

Functions
  • Live display of the camera image (UVC standard, e.g. webcam, scientific cameras, ...) with control over the camera parameters.
  • Data acquisition and storage in form of image or video. A timelapse function is also implemented
  • Implemented image optimization live applicable (HDR, Histogram stretching, offset correction, Saturation, etc.)
  • Frame-averaging to reduce noise in astronomical images or in low-light conditions
  • Measurement of imaged objects (pixels, µm-distances in microscopic images, angular aperture in arcminutes in astronomical measurements)
  • Optional: Connection with our microscope to control light intensity and exposure mode (Bright/Dark-Field)
  • Optional: Connection with our telescope mount for tracking of stars and sun
